As I left my children and partner at the Airport I was nervous and excited to be given the chance to volunteer in another country and help that countries people. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this.
During this trip, we not only helped our patients but their families as well. We were able to give life back to those that were limited, we were able to give hope back to the community. We were able to share our knowledge with others and ensure that in the future the work we do continues to empower and bring hope. You helped me do all this and I am forever thankful.
I was able, thanks to your sponsorship, help others whilst learning about a new culture and country. You have allowed me to do all this without the stress of additional fundraising and allowed me to focus on the task at hand. Whilst there I was also lucky enough to make some lasting friendships and connections.
I have walked away with renewed passion for nursing , education and ensuring we share our skills and knowledge so the next generation can continue to provide the best possible care to all. I thank you for the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills plus spark a passion to continue to do this. Tonga will not be my last OHI and I have you to thank for that.
